I bought this lens based on several recommendations about the quality of the images you can get with it. In particular, the lightness of the lens is a major factor. I recently bought the Nikon D90 I use this lens on and the combination is very easy to hold for long periods and to shoot sports with. All the pictures I took with reasonable light levels were super sharp. I used it to shoot pictures of my grandson playing football and even caught a sequence of shots where I zoomed between shots (1 second apart or so) as he scored almost right in front of me. All the shots at 200mm were excellent after discounting my sometimes poor selection of where to point the lens. The VR clearly was working as I was hand-holding for all my shots,

I have some lens such Canon,Sigma, etc, but nothing like Nikon glasses. The image is perfect and great operability and performance about the photography field. If you are looking for a five stars lens for your SRL, don't hesitate and buy Nikon.

I got order shipped quickly I am very happy with the lens itself, the price was excellent too. This is the perfect lens for long focus without getting closed to object. It freezes the object when shoot and clarity is too good. No shake in image that is perfect.It works great with my D40 I recommend every photographer should have this one

I have the kit lens that comes with the Nikon D40. The 55-200 VR is a nice complement for my kit lens... Also i recomend you to use a flash. I have the SB-400 and the pictures are really beautiful.
